Avery

Four year old, ever-curious Avery has a lot of questions about the world around her. She is best described as kind, gentle, sweet and sassy with a hint of an old soul.

Avery enjoys reading, playing with her little sister, riding ponies and exploring the neighbourhood she lives in. Naturally an observer, Avery is determined to discover the answers to her each and every question.

Andrea

Andrea Lowe was born and raised in North Vancouver, and now lives in the Cambie corridor with her husband, daughters Avery (4) and Piper (2) and a couple of furry friends.

Andrea’s favourite part about being a mom is watching her daughters develop and grow from babies to independent little girls and as they discover things for the first time. She finds there is nothing more rewarding than watching the little wheels turn in their minds and watching for that spark in their eyes when they learn something new.

As a family, the Lowe’s love to travel, cook meals together, go for walks, hikes & adventures.

Harriet

Harriet is a Vancouver-based portrait artist. She completed her studies in Fine Art and photography at Seaford College in England. She studied sculpture, drawing and painting and benefited immensely from exploring the techniques taught. She is now developing her craft through a more personal perspective.

Having been Avery and Piper’s former Nanny, her inspiration for the Illustrations came from Avery’s imagination and the experiences they shared together. Every tiny detail throughout the book, from Leo’s hiding places, to the colour of the clothes, and even the font was all decided with Avery’s input.

When Harriet is not in the studio, she loves to explore all the beautiful hikes and beaches Vancouver has to offer.
